Our 365Metrics solution helps you better understand your Microsoft 365 usage, and therefore optimize your Microsoft 365 licenses. Find out more about this solution and the support we can offer you here.
We regularly upgrade our 365Metrics solution. The aim is to adapt to the evolving needs of our customers, as well as to new uses for Microsoft 365. It's also an opportunity for us to make improvements that are less visible, but which are designed to enhance the experience of using the solution and reading the reports.
First Copilot indicators to better support adherence
To keep pace with the explosion in the use of Copilot's generative AI solution in companies, we've started integrating Copilot into the metrics we measure.
Today, 365Metrics reports on the allocation and actual use of Copilot licenses. This makes it possible to understand whether the license assignment strategy within the company, or within each division, is relevant or not. As a result, the use of Microsoft 365 licenses can be optimized.
We are already working on more precise indicators for Copilot usage. That said, it's not yet possible to access as much usage data for Copilot as for other tools in the Microsoft 365 suite. As Microsoft opens up this type of data, more informed advice may be forthcoming.
An English version to reach a wider audience
Since this summer, the 365Metrics solution and the deliverables we provide have been available in the language of Shakespeare (and Redmond). This follows requests from a number of international customers, or from French subsidiaries wishing to share the results of our analysis with their headquarters abroad.
In the same spirit, 365Metrics is now also available on Microsoft's Enterprise Marketplace. The aim is to reach a wider, international audience. And therefore, to raise awareness of the best practices for using Microsoft 365.
A graphic and ergonomic makeover for greater clarity
New logo
The logo, already a few years old, has been given a fresh, colorful look.
We've kept the original spirit, with the histogram with values 3, 6 and 5 (for 365Metrics, a name already inspired by Microsoft 365). The core of 365Metrics, however, is the ability to deliver structured, visual information to aid decision-making.
Harmonizing visuals
To improve the user experience, we have harmonized the visual rendering indicators.
- Fonts and font sizes have been harmonized;
- The visuals have also been redesigned to improve overall coherence;
- Some colors have been modified to be more in line with the message we wanted to get across. We'll be using green for positive messages, or red for points of attention.
Although these changes are minor, they should make it easier to see at a glance where corrections need to be made.
Harmonizing units
This has also been an opportunity toalign the indicators close to us, so that we always use a common system of units. Gone are the indicators in GB next to those in MB (when it makes sense, we don't display the average size of an email in GB...).
Here too, the aim is to make the report easier to read, and comparable indicators easier to compare.
Format adaptation for PDF extraction
For those of you who have already used our solution, you know that we deliver a static report, not an interactive dashboard. The latter is reserved for our oral presentation of your data analysis.
We have worked onimproving the ergonomics of the report. This makes it easier to switch between interactive and static formats. This allows :
- shorter time between oral presentation and delivery of the report;
- almost identical presentation between the dashboard and the report. So you can easily find your way around the deliverable.
What next?
We always have other ideas... like :
- New metrics around Copilot, as mentioned above. They help to understand how it is being used within the organization, and whether initiatives around Microsoft's generative AI are taking ;
- Improving the display of the data perimeter concerned by each indicator. This will help to better understand data retention time, and how it can vary from one indicator to another;
- An indicator around the number of Teams / SharePoint sites with a single administrator. This helps to identify sites at risk in the event of a member of staff leaving or becoming unavailable;
- An (anonymized) indicator around the number of employees spending more than a certain amount of time in Teams meetings each week. This enables us to identify the risks associated with too high a volume of meetings and too heavy a workload.
And many more!
And you, what analysis elements would you like to optimize your Microsoft 365 licenses? We'd be delighted to hear from you!
